  • Because democracy and free enterprise need an economic counterpart to "One Person, One Vote."

  • “Every Citizen an Owner” expresses the natural connection between political and economic power, which in a just society starts with each person. Where citizenship is an expression of political empowerment, ownership is an expression of economic empowerment.

  • "Every Citizen an Owner" stands for equality of access, equality of opportunity and equality of status.

  • Citizenship and ownership are the binary (or twin) components of human sovereignty (empowerment), which is essential to justice, democracy and freedom. "Every Citizen an Owner" is the ultimate “check and balance” against the monopolization and abuse of power. It is the moral answer to the reality of economic power: “Own or be Owned.”

  • "Every Citizen an Owner" states the economic goal of "Capital Homesteading by 2012." The Capital Homestead Act would enable every person in society to become an owner of productive capital.

  • “Every Citizen an Owner” reflects Abraham Lincoln's vision as embodied in his Homestead Act of 1862. It projects this idea forward as a new economic agenda for unifying and developing our nation. It expresses Lincoln's belief that we don't have to make the rich man poor in order to make the poor man rich. Our economic plan for the 21st Century can unite all members of society.

  • “Every Citizen an Owner” is the starting point for how each person would benefit from Capital Homesteading. A capital homestead would provide you a second income from your own productive assets. Direct ownership through capital homesteading would give you and every other citizen a personal stake in the boundless frontier of new technology and green growth (“Own a Share of the Growth Frontier").

  • If every citizen had a capital homestead, Fed-created money and interest-free credit for an ownership stake in private-sector growth, we could achieve "full production, full employment, full ownership and full empowerment." The key is opening up citizen access to Fed-created money and interest-free credit, and to the full stream of future profits for paying off the credit for new capital.

  • “Every Citizen an Owner” envisions a new relationship between each citizen and the central bank (the basic institution of money and credit creation). Every citizen should "Own the Fed.”

  • “Every Citizen an Owner” also expresses a new relationship between the ordinary citizen (as both an owner as well as a worker) and business enterprises seeking to finance their production and growth (and sell more of their goods and services).

  • "Every Citizen an Owner" is a “bottom-up” approach that enables everyone to earn profits to support their own health care, education and personal needs.

  • "Every Citizen an Owner" states a new pillar of American foreign policy based on universal principles of economic and social justice. It offers a vision and the means for achieving peace, prosperity, hope and freedom for all citizens of the world.
