Capital Homesteading Reforms to Make Every Citizen an Owner Declaration of Monetary Justice About the Capital Homesteading Plan Summary of the Capital Homestead Act |
DATE, TIME AND PLACE: Friday, April 16, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Lakeside Plaza Community Room, 3800 Powell Lane, Falls Church, VA 22041. FOCUS OF THE COLLABORATIVE: We will explore a step-by-step strategy to get us to the goal of “Every Citizen an Owner,” beginning with a project at the community level involving a Citizens Land Cooperative and local CESJ, which would demonstrate financing and ownership aspects of a national and global model. OBJECTIVE: To develop and gain commitment for a unified strategy among organizations and individuals to achieve this goal at the 1) community, 2) national and 3) global levels. TARGET PARTICIPANTS: Leaders and members of organizations committed to basic principles of economic and social justice (particularly as expressed within paradigms such as the Just Third Way and binary economics), as the moral and economic framework for implementing Capital Homesteading. WHY YOU ARE BEING INVITED TO THIS COLLABORATIVE: To provide expert inputs based on your particular background and experience, and to help refine the strategies for major projects at each of the three levels. DIRECTIONS TO LAKESIDE PLAZA (Check maps.google.com or mapquest.com for exact directions from your location.) From US Route 50/Washington DC: Take Rt. 50-West (Arlington Blvd) to the Carlin Springs Rd. exit on right. At the light, turn left (south) on Carlin Springs Rd. and travel about 1.5 miles. Turn right on Columbia Pike (Rt. 244), traveling west toward Annandale. After crossing under Rt. 7, travel about 1 mile and get in left lane after light at Madison Lane/Blair Rd. Turn left onto Powell Lane. Follow the road into front parking lot. From I-395/Washington DC: Take I-395-South from Washington, DC to Rt. 7 (King Street/Leesburg Pike). Go west on Rt. 7 for approximately 2 miles. Take the Columbia Pike (Rt. 244)-West exit, traveling toward Annandale. Travel about 1 mile on Columbia Pike and get in left lane after light at Madison Lane/Blair Rd. Turn left onto Powell Lane. Follow the road into front parking lot. From I-95/Alexandria: Take I-395-North toward Washington. Go about 4.5 miles and take the King Street/Leesburg Pike-Rt. 7 exit (Exit 5). Travel west on Rt. 7 for about 2 miles. Take the Columbia Pike (Rt. 244)-West exit, traveling toward Annandale. Travel about 1 mile on Columbia Pike and get in left lane after light at Madison Lane/Blair Rd. Turn left onto Powell Lane. Follow the road into front parking lot. From I-495/Maryland: Take I-495-South to Exit 50B, Rt. 50-East (Arlington Blvd.). Go about 4 miles and exit onto Rt 7-East. Take the Columbia Pike (Rt. 244)-West exit, traveling toward Annandale. Travel about 1 mile on Columbia Pike and get in left lane after light at Madison Lane/Blair Rd. Turn left onto Powell Lane. Follow the road into front parking lot. ***PARKING INSTRUCTIONS*** When you arrive at Lakeside Plaza, proceed directly to the front entrance. Press the unit code for the front desk to get buzzed in. You'll need to sign in and get a visitor's pass for your car. After you park in a visitor's (un-numbered) spot, proceed to the Party Room on the 2nd floor. |
