The Center for Economic and Social Justice and the Coalition for Capital Homesteading will hold two days dedicated to the goal of “Every Citizen an Owner” through the Capital Homestead Act of 2012. Date: Friday, April 15, 2011. Locations and Times: The rally will start at 10:15 to 11:00 AM, from the front sidewalk of the White House (Pennsylvania Avenue between 16th and 17th Streets, NW), to deliver the Coalition’s message to President Obama. Participants will walk West down Constitution Avenue and regroup from 12 noon to 1:30 PM at the Constitution Avenue entrance of the Federal Reserve Building (between 20th and 21st Streets, NW, Washington, DC). Speakers from around the U.S. and other nations will call for the new policy goal of “Every Citizen an Owner” through capital homesteading. Their message to policymakers and citizens is that we need a new role for the Federal Reserve and other central banks around the world. “Financing the Future” will look at a just, market-based economic agenda for financing such needs as economic reconstruction, development of our cities, infrastructure and new energy systems. The "Capital Homestead Act" would enable every citizen to gain an ownership share of productive assets and future economic growth, without deficits, government debt, or taxpayer dollars. Featured presentations will include representatives from the Harris Neck Land Trust of Georgia. Come hear about this historic effort for justice that could establish the first community-based model of capital homesteading and citizen ownership.
